Michele Rossouw
Director
Lumin takes much pride in introducing one of the four directors of The Lumin Foundation, Michele Rossouw- Ph.D. candidate.
Michele Rossouw, married, blessed with three children and a grateful daughter of wonderful parents and stepdad. She started her career on a psychological basis (Bachelor Of Arts – health science and social services) further building her counseling and coaching skills on a theological basis (Honors Theology, Masters Theology, and current Ph.D. Theology). Michele became a licensed certified Temperament Counselor through The National Counselors Association (NCCA) and a co-active coach through Coachingdevelopment.
The crux of her practice named You-Turn Powerfully is finding an identity as given by God throughout life’s journey (emotional, spiritual, physical, environmental changes).
As a result of personal experience, she knows that relatives of a cancer patient experience emotional turmoil. A cancer diagnosis places the lives of everybody involved in a roller coaster trip and with the intense focus on the diagnosed person, the rest of the family are often overlooked with regards to their own emotional and spiritual struggles. Her passion is to explore the impact of cancer-related stress on significant others with the goal of helping the family to adapt to the circumstances in order to support the patient. This is done by coactively coaching her clients to finding their strength and identity in God.
You-Turn Powerfully can be defined as the “healing of life from the viewpoint of Christian spirituality. It is about how new life in the risen Christ and the indwelling presence of the Spirit can contribute to the empowerment of human beings. It is about hope, care and the endeavor to give meaning to life within the reality of suffering, our human vulnerability, and the ever-present predicament of trauma, illness, and sickness”.
